Laurelwood Center

Psychiatric Hospital with Chemical Dependency Patients Housed Separately

The Program
"In Its Own Words"

Self Description:

"An adult addictions treatment program. Inpatients receive 16 CD process/ education groups per week. Our focus is on total abstinence, relapse prevention and behavior modification."

Treatment Philosophy:

Approach to Dual Diagnosis:

A psychiatrist diagnoses the patient as dual diagnosis. A certified addiction counselor completes the consult. The dual diagnosed attend a dual track program which includes addiction education, CD group as well as adult psych groups with a LCSW."

"Families attend one or more family conferences and (4) one half day education and process groups with spouse, father, etc. Encourage Al-Anon attendance."

Position on 12 Step Involvement:

"Attend AA four nights per week; NA three nights per week; one in house AA meeting."
