"In Its Own Words"

Self Description:

"Pia's Place is an all women's extended-care program designed to facilitate and foster healthy self-esteem and recovery from addictive behaviors such as substance abuse, sex, love, and relationship addictions, and eating disorders."

Position On 12 Step Involvement:

"Clients are required to attend daily 12 Step meetings while at Pia's Place and to work with a sponsor, and are encouraged to continue in 12 Step programs following discharge. 12 Step involvement is essential to recovery."

Position On Confrontation:

"Confrontation when done responsibly, is important and necessary in order to gain insight into negative behaviors, to share feelings with other community members and to grow in one's recovery. Clients are taught communication skills to aid in the development of assertiveness and intimacy."
