The Shoulder

Long Term Residential Program

The Program
"In Its Own Words"

Self Description:

"The Shoulder offers holistic treatment using a Christian, 12 Step model for men 18 and over who are willing to work outside the facility during the day and return to the residential program in the evenings."

Treatment Philosophy:

"Addiction is a treatable disease, and no one is turned away due to lack of ability to pay."

Approach to Dual Diagnosis:

"Those with dual diagnosis are welcome if they are receiving mental health monitoring from another facility or we'll be glad to make referrals."

Family Program:

"The Shoulder believes family involvement is a critical part of overall treatment, and offers two groups; one for clients and family members together, and one for family members alone."

Position on 12 Step Involvement:

"The Shoulder fully believes in the effectiveness of 12 Step groups and uses them as a part of treatment, as well as an adjunct."

Position on Confrontation:

"We feel it's a very effective method and tool in dealing with rehabilitation of alcoholism and addiction."
