Addiction Resource Guide

Sierra Tucson
Freestanding Chemical Dependency Rehab

The Program
"In Its Own Words"

Self Description:

"Sierra Tucson's comprehensive inpatient programs provide individualized treatment plans for a wide range of addictions and mental/behavioral disorders. Professional, caring staff incorporate medical/psychiatric services with 12 Step philosophy and traditional, experiental, and integrative therapies. Patients are asked to complete a minimum 30-day program (minimum 45 days for eating disorder patients)."

Treatment Philosophy:

"Sierra Tucson's philosophy of treatment recognizes a simple truth: all of us exist as mind, body, spirit and emotions. Only when the whole person is healed - not just the symptoms, but the underlying problems - can recovery begin."

Approach To Dual Diagnosis:

"Sierra Tucson excels at treating coexisting addictions and mental/behavioral disorders. Addictions and psychological illnesses are brought on by a number of co-occurring factors that must be addressed collectively to create a successful outcome. Sierra Tucson's multidisciplinary treatment team assures accurate diagnosis and utilizes an impressive range of innovative treatment modalities."

Family Program:

"Sierra Tucson's four day Family Program is an integral part of the patient's long term recovery success. Invited family members are given an opportunity to participate in therapy, face their own issues, and work toward resolution and healing. Children and teens 7-17 years of age benefit from age appropriate activities to help them understand and heal from the turmoil they have experienced."

Position On 12 Step Involvement:

"The 12 Step philosophy is utilized as a basis for Sierra Tucson's treatment programs, and individuals are encouraged to use the 12 Step principles in their recovery. Research has shown that the quality of recovery from all addictive and mental health disorders is enhanced by the many components of the 12 Step Programs, such as mutual support, honesty, accountability, acceptance, and spirituality."
