“Our program is therapeutically structured to allow the client both a full treatment schedule and ample time to practice the newly acquired skills that will aid in making the transitions back into society.”

Treatment Philosophy:

“The primary responsibility of Colonial House is to provide a transitional, supportive and therapeutic environment in a home-like setting for any chemical dependent person who needs and wants help in learning to live without chemicals, and who want to return to normal community living.”

Approach to Dual Diagnosis:

“We provide access to psychiatric care and assistance in developing coping skills to manage psychiatric symptoms in recovery for clients presenting mild to moderate non-psychotic psychiatric symptoms.”

Family Program:

“Colonial House provides an 8 hour workshop for all families and family counseling for families and significant others.”

Position on 12 Step Involvement:

“Colonial House provides daily access to 12 Step meetings, education on utilizing the 12 Steps as a program of recovery, and the opportunity to establish and utilize a sponsor and support group while still in treatment.”

Position on Confrontation:

“Here at Colonial House, we believe in confronting the addiction not the person.”
