Self Description:

“Medically-monitored, professionally-staffed chemical dependence treatment offering patients involvement in an intensive, variable length of stay, individualized treatment to arrest the chemical dependency, stabilize the initial recovery, restore functioning for movement to less intensive level of care, and smooth the transition to that less intensive level for continuation of recovery. ”

Treatment Philosophy:

“Chemical dependency is chronic, progressive and irreversible but is treatable through abstinence from alcohol and other chemicals of dependence, a program of recovery addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual effects of dependence, and the continuing care to maintain this recovery.”

Approach to Dual Diagnosis:

“May be concommitant issues to be addressed – many similarities between recovery from chemical dependency and mental health i.e., attending to set regimen such as medication and AA attendance, or mental health condition may pre-exist or be evident once illegal chemical removed. Both conditions need to be addressed.”

Family Program:

“Two hour family education series is provided free of charge prior to visitation with referral of family members to our outpatient services for treatment, or the local Alcohol and Drug Council for continuing education and transition to Al-Anon or other family support groups.”

Position on 12 Step Involvement:

“Patients are introduced to the underlying therapeutic principles of 12 Step programs. On site AA & NA meetings for patients, and continued attendance strongly emphasized.”

Position on Confrontation:

“Therapeutic confrontational techniques utilized to break through denial. Firm limits with a more gentle approach – allowing for ‘discovery’.”

Other Characteristics:

“Strong emphasis on arranging and maintaining relationships with referral and continuing care programs for smooth transition of patient from one level of care to the next. Discharge summary sent out an average of 3 days after discharge.”
