Self Description:
“Our treatment program, geared for adult males struggling with chemical dependency and complex recovery issues, is clinically diverse, spiritually orientated, and challenging.”
Treatment Philosophy:
“We believe that chemical dependency is a medical disease that is lifelong, devastating to personal and family relationships and potentially fatal. Yet, with appropriate treatment one can begin the journey to resolving unmanageability and powerlessness thereby developing a solid recovery.”
Approach to Dual Diagnosis:
“We believe chemical dependency, psychiatric disorders and/or coexisting addictions must be treated simultaneously.”
Family Program:
“The Lodge provides personal and individualized counseling for family members.”
Position on 12 Step Involvement:
“Residents at La Verna Lodge participate in outside 12 Step meetings, obtain sponsors, and build a foundation for lasting sobriety and recovery.”
Position on Confrontation:
“La Verna Lodge utilizes constructive ‘care-frontation’ versus any form of humiliating, destructive confrontations.”
Additional Characteristics:
“The name La Verna Lodge was inspired by St. Francis of Assissi’s mountain retreat in central Italy and includes Fr. Leo Booth’s ‘Say Yes to Life Program’.”
