Self Description:

“SHAR provides intensive residential treatment of 3 to 6 months, to persons who are severely debilitated by their addiction, regardless of their ability to pay.”

Treatment Philosophy:

“Addiction is a symptom of a problem and recovery is achieved by addressing the problems that underlie the addiction.”

Approach To Dual Diagnosis:

“Dually diagnosed persons are served in special programs with treatment designed to meet their special environmental, medical and social needs.”

Family Program:

“Family support and coherence are encouraged through involving families in the “Family Association,” providing family therapy and offering a program in which children can reside with their mothers.”

“SHAR offers a continuum of services, from intensive residential to outpatient, that support the clients as they progress towards quality sobriety and independence.”

Position On 12 Step Involvement:

“All residents are encouraged to participate in 2 self help groups a week and are educated with regard to the meaning and application of the 12 Steps.”
