Self Description:

“Spruce Mountain Inn’s residential treatment program is comprehensive and balances therapeutic intervention, appropriate psychiatric (medical) treatment, vocational development and life skills training.”

Treatment Philosophy:

“We believe that an integrated program of individualized treatment from a multi-disciplinary team in a supportive and structured setting can help our clients learn to manage their challenges and become able to function independently in the community.”

Approach to Dual Diagnosis:

“We use a relapse prevention model supplemented by community based 12 Step program to help individuals with psychiatric issues maintain sobriety while their psychiatric issues are addressed. We do drug and alcohol screens to help people avoid use or deal with slips when they occur.”

Family Program:

“We support our clients in developing adult relationships with their parents and are in communication regularly with families according to a plan agreed upon by the client, the family and the treatment team.”

Position on 12 Step Involvement:

“We encourage client involvement in 12 Step programs in the community but we teach a “relapse prevention model” on site.”

Position on Confrontation:

“Confrontation tends to be gentle.”

Additional Characteristics:

“Spruce is very small, supportive and can individualize its program within its basic structure. We are comprehensive in our approach and maintain continuity of treatment over a range of living options. Our staff is committed and caring and the setting is comfortable and homelike.”
